Objection Defense (“Objection Defense,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent educational mock-trial practice service operated by Daniel Khan in Pennsylvania, United States. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, disclosed, and protected when you access Objection Defense through objectiondefense.com or related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

• Your email address;
• Your name or profile name, if provided;
• Your account identifier;
• Authentication information necessary to operate your account; and
• Limited profile information provided through Google Sign-In, if you choose that method.

If you use Google Sign-In, Google processes information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your Google password.

Practice and interaction information

When you use the Service, we may process:

• Ruleset and drill-mode selections;
• Practice questions and scenarios;
• Objections and explanations you submit;
• AI-generated rulings, reasoning, and coaching feedback;
• Drill completion, accuracy, correct-answer, and streak information;
• Feedback or support messages you send; and
• Other information you voluntarily provide through the Service.

Unless otherwise indicated in the Service, practice progress and statistics may be stored in your browser’s local storage rather than permanently associated with your account on our servers. Local-storage information may be lost if you clear your browser data, change browsers, or use another device.

If you use the optional voice feature in Justify Objection drills, your recording is uploaded to private storage provided by our hosting service (Base44) and sent to a speech-to-text service to be transcribed. The recording has no public link. We cannot currently delete individual recordings from that storage on request, so please do not record anything you would not want stored; you can type your reasoning instead.

Do not include sensitive personal information, confidential case information, private student records, or information identifying another person in drill responses or feedback.

Usage and technical information

We and our service providers may automatically collect information including:

• Internet Protocol address;
• Browser and device type;
• Operating system;
• Referring and exit pages;
• Pages and features used;
• Dates, times, and duration of use;
• Approximate location derived from an IP address;
• Error, security, and diagnostic information; and
• Cookies, local-storage identifiers, or similar technologies.

We use this information to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Create, authenticate, and maintain accounts;
• Provide mock-trial drills and personalized feedback;
• Send submitted drill content to an artificial-intelligence provider for processing;
• Calculate and display practice statistics;
• Maintain security and prevent fraud, abuse, or excessive automated use;
• Enforce rate limits and other usage restrictions;
• Diagnose technical problems;
• Understand how users interact with the Service;
• Respond to questions, feedback, and account requests;
• Enforce our Terms of Service;
• Comply with legal obligations; and
• Protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, the Service, and others.

We do not use Objection Defense to provide legal advice or make legally binding decisions.

3. Artificial-Intelligence Processing

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate drills, evaluate objections, and provide explanations or coaching.

Information contained in a drill request—including the scenario, question, objection, response, and relevant rules—may be transmitted to third-party AI providers through Base44 or its integrations. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or outdated.

You should not submit personal, confidential, privileged, or sensitive information to an AI feature. Use official competition materials and guidance from qualified coaches or tournament officials when preparing for a competition.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The Service may use cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies to:

• Maintain login sessions;
• Remember settings and selections;
• Store practice statistics;
• Protect accounts and prevent abuse;
• Measure use of the Service; and
• Improve performance.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and clear locally stored information through your browser. Disabling these technologies may cause parts of the Service to stop working or erase locally stored progress.

5. Analytics

We may use Base44 analytics or other analytics providers to understand how the Service is used. Analytics providers may collect technical and usage information through cookies or similar technologies.

If you tap “Allow” on the privacy banner, a Google Ads measurement tag loads on this site to count sign-ups. It may set cookies and share basic usage information (such as the page visited and that a sign-up occurred) with Google. It stays off until you allow it, and you can withdraw by clearing this site’s data in your browser. We do not show advertising inside the Service and we do not sell personal information for money.

If we later introduce advertising, materially different analytics, or data-sharing practices, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required choices or notices before those practices begin.

6. How We Share Information

We may disclose information to:

• Base44 and hosting providers, which provide application hosting, authentication, databases, infrastructure, analytics, and backend functionality;
• Google, when you choose Google Sign-In;
• AI service providers, which process drill inputs and generate responses;
• Security and technical providers, which help detect abuse, maintain availability, and diagnose errors;
• Professional advisers, when reasonably necessary to obtain legal, accounting, or technical assistance;
• Government authorities or other parties, when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, or security; and
• A successor operator, if the Service or its assets are transferred, reorganized, or acquired.

Service providers may process information only as permitted by their applicable agreements and privacy practices.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

7. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account remains active and as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements.

Security, analytics, and diagnostic records may be retained for a reasonable period based on their purpose and the practices of our service providers.

Information stored only in your browser remains there until it is deleted by you, your browser, or your device. Deleting your account may not automatically delete information stored in your browser, and clearing local storage may not delete account or server records.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete or deidentify it, subject to technical and legal limitations.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request:

• Access to personal information associated with you;
• Correction of inaccurate information;
• Deletion of certain personal information;
• Information about how your information is used or disclosed; or
• Withdrawal of consent where processing depends on consent.

You may also disconnect Google Sign-In through your Google Account settings, although doing so may affect your ability to access the Service.

To submit a privacy or account-deletion request, contact daniel.setrakian@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Certain information may be retained when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are under 13, do not create an account or use the Service. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information may contact daniel.setrakian@gmail.com.

Users between 13 and the age of legal majority where they live should use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. These measures may include authentication, access controls, input validation, usage limits, and protected backend functions.

No online service, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. International Users

Objection Defense is operated from Pennsylvania, United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws from your jurisdiction.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to official mock-trial materials and other third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or content of third-party services. Their policies govern your use of those services.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the updated policy and revise the “Last updated” date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
